A sample tapestry piece showing various tapestry techniques

“Enjoy the meditative art form of weaving and learn to use color, texture and pattern to create your own personal tapestry! Individual hand looms will be used allowing participants to work on their weaving at home between class sessions. No experience necessary.”

We started our first class last Tuesday and have exceeded our class limit from 10 to 15 participants. Thanks to everyone for joining us- we have a waiting list if you would like to be part of a future class! </
The class got off to a good start with everyone leaping in and almost immediately picking out some artwork for inspiration. We have a good range of yarns available and everyone is encouraged to bring in yarns and fibers from home to add to their tapestries.

Looking forward to showing our progress in my next blog!

“Tapping the Creative Spring” October 3-6 , 2014

What a joy it was, to lead an art retreat with such creative and delightful participants. We thought we had plenty of time, since we started on Friday evening and had until Monday morning yet once we started to explore painting and collage- it was hard to stop – and it was Sunday night before we knew it.

We are already discussing our next year’s retreat, tentatively booked for September 18, 2015. Next year, we need to take advantage of being beside the Atlantic sea and beautiful beach and the intercostal waterway, and do some painting outside.

Ladies, I am waiting for Chrystal to send me the group photos- in the meantime here are some photos of the group, hard at work and taken with my cell phone. For the next blog entry, I’ll have some photos of the group and photos of artwork.

Stay tuned!
